The Portuguese Council Presidency and the European Commission are jointly organising a conference on “Modernising EU justice systems by boosting training of justice professionals” which will be held online on 6-7 May 2021. This online conference is one of the milestones in the dissemination and implementation of the new ambitious European judicial training strategy for 2021-2024, adopted on 2 December 2020 and published as a Commission Communication on ‘Ensuring justice in the EU —a European judicial training strategy for 2021-2024’.
With this two-day conference, the new European judicial training strategy will be disseminated and the Council conclusions ‘Boosting training of justice professionals’ presented to all main stakeholders involved in training justice professionals, including judges, prosecutors, lawyers, notaries, court staff, bailiffs and prison and probation staff. We hope the conference will enable to discuss how to reach the strategy’s new quantitative objectives and qualitative priorities with all stakeholders and ensure the commitment to step-up the efforts in training justice professionals.
The conference is primarily addressed to those who are in charge of training activities for justice practitioners in the EU Member States, but also in the Western Balkans. EU level organisations and networks representing the professionals concerned are also invited to join this event.
